The campaign is based on data from a 2024 report about global travel trends. This report shows that:

  • 1.48% of international visitors to Thailand come for health, wellness, and medical services.
  • These travelers stay for about 10 days and spend roughly 100,259 Baht each.
  • The percentage of wellness tourists from nearby regions like ASEAN, South Asia, and the South Pacific is higher, reaching 2.17%.
  • Cambodia and Myanmar are some of the top countries sending wellness travelers to Thailand.

Exciting Launch in Cambodia

The Amazing Thailand Health and Beauty campaign kicked off with a three-day fair in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from March 21 to 23, 2025. This event took place at AEON Mall, one of Cambodia’s busiest shopping areas. At the fair, 14 Thai wellness businesses showcased their top services, including hospitals, spas, and beauty clinics. Visitors were able to talk with experts, enjoy activities, and win Thai-themed prizes like elephant-print bags and travel accessories.

The event was special because it also marked 75 years of diplomatic ties between Thailand and Cambodia, with wellness tourism as the highlight of this celebration.

Partnering with ASEAN to Offer Special Deals

One big part of the campaign is working with VISA to offer exclusive discounts for Cambodian VISA cardholders. From April 1 to June 15, 2025, people with ASEAN VISA cards can get special deals on wellness packages in Thailand. These offers include medical check-ups, cosmetic surgeries, luxury spas, and beauty treatments, making it easier for regional travelers to enjoy Thai wellness services.

Two Key Strategies for the Campaign’s Success

The campaign is using two strategies to engage customers:

  1. Direct Engagement with Consumers: By holding events like the fair in Cambodia, TAT helps travelers connect directly with Thai wellness brands, building trust and interest.
  2. Partnerships with ASEAN Businesses: TAT is working with banks, wellness providers, travel agencies, and influencers to reach a larger audience and make it easier for ASEAN tourists to book wellness services in Thailand.

The campaign is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of people, involving more than 15 partners across ASEAN, including major businesses like banks, hospitals, and airlines.
