Tanzania is getting more visitors from other countries who come for medical care.

This growth is happening because the government has been putting more money into hospitals and health services. On Monday, Health Minister Jenista Mhagama shared this news with the parliament in Dodoma. She said that from 2021 to March 2025, the number of foreign patients more than doubled—from 5,705 to 12,180 people.

People are coming to Tanzania from many places, like the Comoros, Malawi, Burundi, Zambia, Rwanda, South Africa, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, Egypt, and Mauritius.

More patients are choosing Tanzania because of its growing healthcare services, especially in areas like cancer, heart care, bone treatment, and other special medical needs.

Minister Mhagama said that better hospitals, new medical equipment, and skilled doctors have helped make Tanzania a stronger choice for people looking for treatment in Africa.
